- There is no other path in the source, and removing -NNNxNNN from the end of the filename is an unreliable way:
There's no guarantee that 1) this image would exist; 2) this image would have the same dimensions (i.e. an image with -NNNxNNN could be deliberately cropped from the sides, while an image without would have parts that the site editor wanted to cut off); 3) this image wouldn't be over 5 MB so that IV would break.
In this particular case, (2) is exactly what happened. In fact, you added your own content by altering the look of the image. Nobody asked you to reverse the image cropping and display an uncropped image.
