When several image resolutions are available, the IV page should use better quality images (within reason). The optimal resolution range is 1280px-2560px

Here, https://www.ethiopiaobserver.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/1-b1yfvRuQ4UEYOJyhqNWDcg-1024x682.jpeg is used (1024×682)
where a higher-resolution version is available via the srcset attribute:

It is not mandatory. The images my template uses are already good in quality, I can see no difference between my template and yours.
Also, I don't think it's safe to delete "-1024x682" from every image's link, this could lead to broken links...
