- "We shouldn't convert all the embeds into links." I agree and i don't. Gleam.io embeds have a fallback to links when iframe cannot be injected and I don't see anything wrong in this case. And the checklist you are referring to is about unsupporting videos.
Imho all gleam.io embeds are safe to leave as links, while, obviously, they are essential to the article, they are not essential to be seen in embed form, there's no media there that would increase experience.
