These are opinion articles, and the author image is important to the article since it is the author opinion if you put it in link preview it needs to be in the body as well.
You have +500 opinion article that does not have the main image.

I have not yet seen an issue that was approved because of either missing or present author images in articles like these. The consensus is it's OK to remove them, but it's fine to leave them, as well.
