- The original website displays the slide number because you cannot see the total number of slides. It is to give the user an indication of how far they are in the slideshow.
The Instant View page automatically shows the number of slides on a slideshow, in the form of little dots at the bottom of the image. This achieves the exact same effect; it lets the user know how many images there are and which of them the user is currently viewing.
Furthermore, if you tap the image in the IV page (in the Telegram client), Telegram actually shows the number in the form of "x of y" at the top of your screen.
Displaying this number in the generated Instant View is completely unnecessary.
