A slideshow should be definitely used here. This is not an article only about photos.

Yes, the this page contains not only photos but two videos.

Photos and videos are the main medium of the article, and the text at the beginning serves only as the introduction (short description). The text actually describes what is coming next (photos).

I think it falls under:
>EXCEPTION! Slideshows must not be used:
- When the article uses images/videos/GIFs with captions as the main medium.

And also, how we should detect such cases. Should we check for the presence of iframes in body?

I am pretty sure that almost all "gallery" articles on this website have the similar structure: 1-2 paragraphs of text + photos and videos following each other.
I think it is an acceptable formatting.
