Thank you for the clarification.

I would vote against removing the "Things You'll Need" section. The check boxes are only a minor "flair" that is added to aid the user in gathering the required stuff. Nevertheless, the information hereby contained is more important than the interactive part and technically the user does not miss out on anything of importance.
