So I assume he detects it by the number of paragraphs after the slideshow. Which is obviously not reliable.

It's impossible to reliably detect if there's other content on the page. And you can see there's clearly other content after the slideshow (Paragraph
"Part four of our caring Canberrans where culture and fun are all part of our community centres."
)
And there's no reliable way to detect this.
