Template #6 Issue #2
Jun 9, 2017
This is authored column. The author is the one mentioned on the page, not the one in meta tags.
Aleksandr
Павел Голубев isn't co-worker at klops.ru. Authored columns are taken from external resources. For example here you can see article's source https://klops.ru/news/avtorskaya-kolonka/155992-lyogkie-dengi-zakonchilis-kak-vyzhit-biznesu. So author in this case should be klop's employee who have found that source, edited that and posted under klops.ru domain.
Accepted by admin
Анастасия Кондратьева isn't mentioned anywhere except meta. While Павел Голубев is the author of this text.

What the user sees when viewing the original article in an ordinary browser has priority over invisible meta-information.

According the rules all social media links should be removed.
https://instantview.telegram.org/checklist#4-content-to-be-removed

In this particular case, the links are part of the article, not just social links of its publisher, so it's better to keep them. And it is certainly confusing to remove the links but keep the logos of Facebook and Instagram.

When creating template I checked hundreds of pages and have never seen that kind of iframes. So that infogram isn't typical for klops.ru content and rarely appears on website. Also by the published date you can see that this is new feature which has been introduce when InstantView template has already been under development and really it kinda difficult to predict what other iframes they are going use in the future. My template works well for most pages of the current domain.
Accepted by admin
I'm sorry this happened to you, anyway the article is not so new, your template was sent almost 10 days later, and it was a responsibility to also review the new content of the site, no just the old.

The issue is still valid, sorry.

Which format? Maybe you mean formatting? In this case I can't add css to IV template and handle IV engine elements parsing. Also i can't add my own content. Or if the article has wrong html markup this is not IV problem.

Valentin
My template handles photo captions and photo credits on this page ( https://goo.gl/ZoEQ5X ), but you declined this issue on next template ( https://goo.gl/Gxc91c ). Why you accepted issue based on wrong original article formatting? This is not common problem for website. This is bad markup only on this page. We can't generate separate templates for each pages where markup is wrong
Declined by admin
After analyzing other articles on this site, we're agreed this is not a common formatting, so it's acceptable to leave it as it is, since it's more like the original article's issue.

This footer should be removed, formatting link inside text is just enough.
dotvhs
"Formatting link inside text is just enough" - please elaborate.

Also, these are footnotes for the link tooltips. This is most visually pleasing way and also not intrusive I could only found. I read rules and checklist plenty times and this is the result. I did not find the better way to handle these. I added anchors to links and put explanation as the footnotes. If you know more about handling these, please inform me I really want to do this the best possible way.

When I added these underneath the article like normal text, it made false representation like it was part of the article, which is wrong (remember that not all articles end up with video, like this one).

The template author is right: references should be preserved. But best possible way to format them is using <reference>. See here: https://instantview.telegram.org/docs#supported-types
dotvhs
I am aware of <reference> tag, but there are no samples anywhere for them. Manual is very vague about it as well. Where can I learn about it? I'd really like to see a working example. Is this possible?
Accepted by admin
<reference> works the same the same way as <anchor> does, except you have to put the reference content inside of it.

Live example: open Instant View of this link in Telegram clients, then tap "семья Арашуковых." to see <reference> in action: https://meduza.io/feature/2019/02/21/kuda-idut-dengi-napravlennye-iz-byudzheta-v-karachevo-cherkesiyu-otvet-navalnogo-neskolkim-klanam

I would also recommend to put references inside of <details>, however, visual format is not strict for now.

Manual will be updated.

These dividers don't exist in the original article. The picture at the end of the article has better resolution too.
dotvhs
Dividers are a result of converting information in table to the IV. It's done this way to make the content readable, shouldn't be an issue, this is the exact reason why are we making templates - to make content readable for humans.

Resolution of image at the end is the same. It's just scaled down (<pic> with width) to match original article.

To the Template Auditors: those images/text are inside table, I did convert them to normal divs and dividers are there to let reader know which image matches which description. In perfect world those should be figcaptions but there is not enough data to do that. I took the safe approach.

Template #95 Issue #2
Feb 28, 2019
The tables were converted into <div>. But they can be handled by changing <img> s inside table into <pic>. The exchange from table to div caused the template order to break.
dotvhs
According to Manual <pic> should be used for small images (it's called an Icon inside Manual for this exact reason). Also, when you use <pic> those images can't be enlarged on the IV, which breaks the IV experience.

If that wasn't the case, we could just convert all images to <pic> to prevent NESTED_ELEMENT_NOT_SUPPORTED, right?
