Template #9 ☄️	Issue #1 Jun 6, 2017	chuchu Missing caption ☄️ There us an issue with IV's HTML parser. It does not allow some elements contain other, though browsers do. IV's parser silently put such invalid nested elements after the original parent. Sometimes it's possible to fix the problem reliably. But in cases like this, multiple elements are put after the parent, and we no longer can confidently say which ones are "illegals" from the parent, and which are just elements that was there. If IV's parser was more browser-like, this would work as it is. Accepted by admin The issue creator handles them way better. All captions must be preserved. ☄️ By now I've seen a lot of declined issues about different one-off cases. For example: https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/dagbladet.no/template8/issue2/ or this: https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/alwast.net/template4/issue1/ and there's more. Moreover, in this particular case it's not just a one-off custom formatting, it's an invalid HTML as I described in the original response. Specifically, <p> tag inside <small> tag. So in addition to being an one-off case, it's not my fault at all. I probably could agree with the issue if the issue creator's template were perfect. But it has more serious issue. It consistently removes cover images. Template #14 Deleted Account	Issue #1 Jun 10, 2017	chuchu This is not a pullquote on the source page Deleted Account but that is a pullquote. just report a thing if it is wrong. for example, if a paragraph marked as a pullquote in my template while it isn't a pullquote, because it's just a paragraph. in my another template, someone has reported a thing and said "that is a caption of the figure!" then admin said, "yes, that's right". but it wasn't a figcaption or figure. it was just a paragraph below the image. Template #14 Deleted Account	Issue #2 Jun 10, 2017	chuchu And this is blockquote, according to that issue: https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/axios.com/template12/issue2/ Deleted Account I think, admin is wrong. because this website using blockquote tag for every element like blockquote or pullquote. they're changing the style of the blockquote to an another style like that is a pullquote. just check this url: https://axios.com/apple-ceos-e-mail-blasting-trumps-paris-accord-move-2429677799.html in this url, they're using "<h5>" header tag for a long blockquote as you can see. if we use this as presented in the original article, we will failed too. so, we should change some things to the valid things. because we're making "perfect templates", right? pullquotes are short parts of the blockquotes or an interesting sentence sample related to the article. that sample marked by you is a blockquote but this website presents it as a blockquote and then changes its style with css style codes like it is a pullquote. Since my tmplte got rejected I want satisfaction Deleted Account Admins are also human. so, it's possible to fail if there is no enough explanation. this website uses blockquote tag for pullquotes and blockquotes. then simply changes them with CSS STYLES. also, this website uses h5 tag for blockquotes too. just think.. if we use this as h5 tag without convert it to a blockquote (like in the original website), IV becomes terrible. U can be 100% sure that it is pullquote if u can meet its text in previous or next paragraphs. So this is just a quote. I made it <aside> because it is similar to site design. I'm not sayin you are not right, but I want admin to accept this issue to everybody if it is so critical. This is not good Deleted Account hi, let me explain that, your case just occurs when you visit the link with developer preview (aka issue creater, so, just here). because when you send this link with telegram, IV bot will handle and cache it. my template sets the date by "x hrs ago" or "x mins ago". maybe the seconds will not be exactly true but rest of the date works like a charm. for news websites, dates are really important. so, i can simply say that my template handle it better. we're making perfect templates, right? Wanted to clarify: you are using <meta published_time> on other aticles, and it is in UTC. But there time in UTC+5 or what. I don't get it. For example this article: https://axios.com/amazon-is-buying-whole-foods-2442735599.html It was published ~3 hrs ago. And time is 13:08. So different timezone in different articles is not good. Deleted Account Hi again, it affects only to minutes or hours (1-5 hours). and when you view a link with issue creator menu, it will open the link by your timezone. this is better than not sharing the all date information.. Your is just "now" time Deleted Account please understand simple things. think, you've sent the link of this article with telegram. if it was published today, then IV bot will use the today's date, hour isn't important. it only occurs for articles which is published today. if you do not make this, when a user shares a link to this article (with Telegram), IV bot will handle this page without a date. the page will be cached without a date. no date. it's clear, I hope. did you understand now? it's more better than leave the date empty. I don't consider it proper to accept this issue in this case, it's not fair. I've checked a lot of pages (about 50+) when I created this template, and everything was good. Everybody would notice it if there was such problem before. This issue puts me at the dead end Declined by admin We didn't change anything, but indeed it appears Indeed, t26-i4 shows us the same page with the correct photo, but if we reload it, the photo disappears from the preview. t26-i4 issue was submitted on Jun 19, so we can assume that photos were showing up OK some time after it was no longer possible to submit new templates.
