The info in which city the news is relevant got mixed into the regular content.
Alphyron πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ
This content is in the original article and essential content from them. When something got mixed its the fault from the page and also I don't see anything that got mixed.

Sorry for previously missing comment - declined by mistake. Such issues will be handled by IV platform, before page content gets to the template. See: https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/waz.de/template10/issue4/

Template #10 Issue #3
Feb 9, 2019
Static page should be supported. It isn't rendering due to a voting widget, but that should just be removed to generate the IV (6.4.3)
Yuri
I think it's better to leave it as it is
Declined by admin
Template #15 Issue #1
Feb 9, 2019
These images should be placed in a slideshow for ease of scrolling, like in the page
Falko
I don't think so: Section 6.2.3 explicity clarifies that Slideshows *must not be used* "when the article consists entirely of a slideshow (and its caption/description) and there's no other content." Since this is exactly the case here, I've done what the checklist says you should do when such a page is encountered:
"In the cases above, use images with captions (or even plain paragraph text) following one another."
Declined by admin
the article consists entirely of a slideshow (and its caption/description) and there's no other content -> No slideshow must be used.
Template #15 Issue #2
Feb 10, 2019
the IV should be generated and potential illegal elements removed since they dont make up the majority of this article
Falko
Section 6.4.2 explicitly specifies that this isn't what you should do: "Pages that display unsupported content (e.g. an interactive map widget) must not generate".

Also, the important question is whether the video is "essential for the understanding of the article", not whether it makes up the majority of the article. In this case, the video supplies a statement from a politician, which the article then discusses, so it is in fact very essential.
Declined by admin
If the video cannot be displayed in IV it must be marked as @unsupported. If there is a template which supports the embed, the issue might get accepted.
Template #10 Issue #4
Feb 10, 2019
footer should be cleaned up, then this media Error would also disappear
Yuri
It is a single broken page on the site. Look for .teaser__body_text, it has a broken paragraph inside (<p...<div><\p...<>), IV cannot process that properly. It is impossible to support all instances of this bug, if there is more.
Accepted by admin
Yuri
Why? This is an HTML bug, I can support this article, but I resist, as long as this is the only broken page on the website.
Element with class "teaser__body__text" contains broken HTML code, it might happen on any other site, in any other place, and unique code is required for each of these cases. Simply removing node with broken HTML isn't helping, because it breaks THE WHOLE html layout. Browsers know how to handle it, IV parser doesn't.

When I asked what should I do with it, admins silently declined the issue, it is confusing me even more. https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/waz.de/template10/issue1/

You are correct, such errors must be properly handled by IV platform, not the template. Accepted issue by mistake. Kindly accept my apologies.
Template #15 Issue #3
Feb 10, 2019
Sorry to make this a duplicate, they should just add the option to edit issues or add more comments.
However youre saying that the article cant be understood without the video wich is wrong. Everything the politician talks about is quoted again and analyzed, so the video is at max related for ease of understanding, but not necessary.

If you are going to argue that it may sometime be supported, your template wont do it either since youre not throwing an error for the element but using a condition. lets see what admin says
Falko
I agree it would be nice to have the ability to edit issues.

However, I would still argue that just removing the video and generating the IV without it would be wrong, by looking at the wording from the checklist. We'll have to wait for an admin's opinion on this.
Declined by admin
The argument is part of the article. It should not be lost. In other cases it might not be quotes but additional information. Removing it is just the wrong way to handle it.

All important media (images, videos, slideshows, and other content that is relevant to the article) that exists in the source must be shown horizontally centered on IV page. (https://instantview.telegram.org/checklist#3-3-supported-elements)
Template #16 Issue #1
Feb 11, 2019
From the checklist:
Slideshows must not be used:
- (...)
- When the article consists entirely of a slideshow (and its caption/description) and there's no other content.
- (...)
In the cases above, use images with captions (or even plain paragraph text) following one another.

This article consists entirely of a slideshow and its description. No slideshow should be used.
Dome
"and there's no other content." this is not the case here. There is a subtitle/text description valid for all the images, so as 3.3. says "All important media (images, videos, slideshows, and other content that is relevant to the article) that exists in the source must be shown horizontally centered on IV page."

As in the original these images are in a slideshow aswell, this is the closest possible representation of the page
Accepted by admin
Slideshows must not be used when the article uses images/videos/GIFs with captions as the main medium (e.g.: travel blogs that show many photos with captions, step-by-step crafting guides, cooking recipes, etc.).

The page source seems to contain an error. This was also the case here:
https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/waz.de/template10/issue4/

However in my template and template #26 (by D6) the problem doesnt exist.
Im not sure what is causing this. Perhaps the cache of the site or something similar is broken...
Admin should investigate this, perhaps its enough to refresh/reload the page in editor view.
I think the error went away for me after I did that. But then how are the cached websites for each template different? That seems like a bad practice imo.
Yuri
I know what's broken, it is IV parser issue, and I'm not going to write a few lines of code for just one 4-year case. I even attached a screenshot, what kind of cache you're talking about? If it is a cache problem, then why it appears only on this page?

This is not an issue with the template but with the IV Platform!

Ok I'm sorry for the duplicate however its really strange. The first time you open this template with the site, the source page displays "09.02.2019 - 07:00 Uhr" and the generated IV "08 Feb 2019, 17:43"

And as soon as I submitted the issue, the date was correct in source the article: "08.02.2019 - 18:43 Uhr".
Thats really strange. Its probably a different cached version of the page theyre using to generate the IV?
Please clairfy this admin.
Niek
Might be some caching going on there. Or maybe you saw the "date modified"? I can't reproduce this issue unfortunately

Playbuzz embeds aren't necessary to understand the page & article. It's an auxiliary widget and should be removed.

This page is actually broken. If you open it with js, you'll see that those images are placed in containers by 2 as a part of a slider widget. And one of the widgets is missing (https://www.waz.de/staedte/duisburg/bilder-von-frueher-und-heute-zeigen-duisburg-im-wandel-id11339605.html?seite=2)

Photo credits are easily identifiable and should be put in the cite element.
Yuri
Figcaptions on this site have two div containers inside. One has class "txt", and the other, often empty, has class "rights". (and they use it: https://www.waz.de/staedte/witten/taschendiebin-beisst-wittener-in-den-arm-und-flieht-id216513063.html) If the article editors have such option, I wouldn't decide for them and risk using regular expressions where it's not needed.
Declined by admin
The credit is just a regular part of the <p> the caption is in.
